MOMENT OF AWARENESS
(A CLARION CALL TO ALERTNESS IN THE FAITH)
Hi beloved of God and fellow battle axe of the living God, I deem it an unreserved privilege to reach out to you via this medium. My conviction is that in all things you are more than a conqueror.
In converse, if you seem not to be singing this chorus in consonance with my persuasion because things are not rosy as you layover in the house, never mine, I still believe the Lord is not done with you yet; therefore don’t loose your courage, zeal and faith, keep pleading the blood at all time for that is all you need. Hordes of people might have lost their grasp over their long cherished and enviable value of praying and reading their bible even forsaking the gathering of the saints but you strife to establish your dominion over them. Be strengthened because there is no better place than the Lord and His house. It is obvious; the world is folding up in disillusion, all attempts to find a potential solution to the seemingly insurmountable challenges have proved overwhelmingly futile. The world is indeed in disjecta membra.
Casting a cursory gaze at the concourse of world events, one would observe that the tumultuous passage of time has been the optimal cockerel voicing with sheer palpability that this world is not and cannot be the home of Christians.
It is quiet blatant that the world seems to be in incessant grudge with any effort to squeeze itself into the mould of Christian ethics let alone to accommodate it’s adherents.
If you have observed as I have with an eagle’s eye, it will not take you by surprise if you see any tom, dick and harry pointing to the ills of our world with accuracy without resort to any stringent moral-judging spectacle. There is an unprecedented degree of immorality, a fashion transcending the form of Sodom and her sister city Gomorrah. Nudity has hit its all time record high to the extent of drawing modern society into a state akin to that of the period of farming, hunting and gathering in history when incivility reduced men to live in semi-nakedness. Unwholesome language has pervaded our air waves with statesmen being caught unshame-facedly as culprits. Human beings these days thumb up without any hesitation to declare their allegiance to the servitude of same-sex marriage, homosexuality, lesbianism and several other dehumanising acts. Pornography and prostitution have assumed a fashionable dimension that it has even woven into the fabric of African culture. Many have fallen to their decoying advances with students at the various tertiary institutions as the worse victims. Let us spare ourselves the discomfort of churning our attention to informing ourselves of the unhealthy quest for riches so much so that many don’t border themselves with how they get it which eventually leads them to all manner of evils. These days, it’s as though if you want your product to sell, you must market it in messages, packages and brands full of sexual innuendos. Pretence and unrealistic lifestyles, strange T.V. and radio programmes, advertisements, not to mention recent music and its accompanying videos, pervasive movies, people’s unusual desire for attention and fame leading them to all shades of modelling and beauty pageantries landing all those derring-do actors into becoming sex maniacs, drug addicts, prostitutes, dons and pimps. There is the desacrilization and circularization of the world, syncretism has become a derigueur, duality is becoming dour in church, in fact these days unbelievers find comfort in church; indeed the world apart from the church is in derangement. Don’t feel queasy, for I have said only a tit of the iceberg, just a significant paucity of what is the reality. The only good news is that you and I as Christians are the only ones capable enough to undertake a depurative exercise to salvage those of the Lord.
Amidst the downturn of morality, falling standard of Christian values, the entrenchment in waywardness by hordes of people, all I can tell you is don’t pack your bags yet, many are perishing at the swing of a pendulum, and these precious lost souls must be won as the fathers of old did to the detriment of their comfort even at the peril of their lives. More hands are needed for this rescue exercise. We must save to the utmost hating even the garment stained by corrupted bodies. Never think all is well if it is well in your community; you must see beyond even beyond your nation (Ghana). Never think about ability, as much as that is necessary though, availability is the un-bar gaining benchmark for efficiency. Be available at all time for the Lord needs you.
Beloved, my heartfelt appeal to you is that don’t look back in your Christianity, the prize is too expensive to bear and especially considering the far you have come in the faith. The world is increasingly becoming an unsafe place for Christians, our values seem not to fit any social backdrop but we must endure living our lives with all carefulness. Many are looking up to you for all you know, you can’t look back for you might not leave alone. It might surprise you to know that there a lot of people older and younger than you who are watching you to define their steps. Be watchful, temperate and sober. The Lord is with you, all the best in all you do. Bless you.

My Promise in the New Covenant
In the Old Covenant promises were given in future tenses. It was required that you follow the statues and obey of orders to be granted the blessings. Deut 28 talks of the reward we will receive if we do the requirement of God. Vrs 2 says “and all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God”
In the New Covenant our promises are stated in the past tenses, meaning they are already accomplished, especially in Christ for us. Ephesians 1:3 says “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.”

Faint not in thy Godly Generosity
Have you ever done good things for people who pay you with evil or will not even recognize your generous gesture? Have you helped people gain stands that they did not appreciate you afterwards and treated you with contempt? Worry not for so it was done to our master the Lord Jesus Christ. Isa 53:4 says “Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted.” NIV. Again John 1:10-11 tells us that “He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him.” NIV
Brethren, it may be that painful and disheartening but be encouraged in the words of the Hymnist in MHB 89:
Go labour on! Tis not for naught
Thine earthy loss is heavenlygain;
Men heed thee, love thee, praise thee not;
The Master praises: what are men?
